Week 2 is already in the books. So far, so good. As you will see I haven’t gotten into the thick of it yet, which is fine by me!
Sunday: 3 miles. 8:21 pace. Shake out run.
Monday: 5 Pace miles. 7:59 average pace. 2 miles warm-up. 2 miles (7:25, 7:45), one mile cool down 8:20.
Tuesday:5 miles. 8:34 pace.
Wednesday: 7mile bike ride with the kids to get ice cream. This is the kind of cycling I can get excited about! After I took Lily and a couple of neighborhood kids to the trails and ran 3 miles 9:33 pace. You should try running with kids-it is so fun and stress relieving, and oh the questions!!!
Friday: 4 miles. First mile with Delaney. 8:14/mile
Saturday: 10.1 miles. My first double digit run of the cycle! 8:15 pace. It was a BEAUTIFUL morning–51* at the start. I was supposed to run 9, but I added in a mile so I could run over a covered bridge because I hadn’t it a while. And it was a nice day :)!
I managed to do 3 days of strength training (upper body and core), and 30 miles running. As always, I finish each run with a 1/2 mile cool down walk with the dogs. It was probably my last “long” run where I didn’t have to drop a water bottle. I don’t think I will hit those cool temperatures again!
We had a fun week with family visiting from Nebraska, so the kids had tons of fun with cousins. This week we have family visiting from MI, and IN (my brother and sister’s families) to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary! Fun times!
Do you have a lot of family visit in the summer? We benefit from living relatively close to each set of parents (1&2 hours away). When siblings come east, we get to see everyone! Dave and I each have big families. We have 19 nieces and nephews!!
