I am still feeling kind of miserable, but I decided it was time to get back out there. Truth be told, I was having an extreme case of “run withdrawal” and felt like if I could get out and log in even one mile, it would be a step in the right direction! I was fretting about the usual–last week’s ZERO miles, this week’s so far, ZERO miles…ENOUGH!
I got ready with the mindset that I would hopefully complete 3 miles, but that I could bail if it was too much. My germy self made it the whole 3.6 mile loop–Yay! It felt good to run, even if I was feeling under the weather. Speaking of the weather, it was cold 18*, but there was lots of sunshine, so it felt kind of nice as far as winter goes. I am still waiting for snow, what is left here is icy and hard.
I finished by taking the dogs around the trails out back (1.5 mile hike). They were so happy to hit the trails with me.
On another note, my new washing machine was delivered today! I am so happy. Our old one stopped working last week. (That is a positive about not being able to run last week, at least I didn’t have sweaty laundry piling up!!) I will be doing A LOT of laundry today!!! Even better is that they are refunding me $50, because of a small scratch in the paint on the front bottom corner!
How is your training week coming?
Do you take supplements to stave off colds/flu? I just remembered to start taking vitamin D and a multi-vitamin. I usually start earlier in the season. I have used zinc for colds too, but not this time. Lesson learned.
